Travel around in South Korea

The country that has the fastest wifi in the world!

Welcome

Location

South Korea is located under North Korea. The capital city is Seoul, as shown in the upper left picture in a red square. In the Asia map it is located down to the right of China.

Currency

South Korea's currency is called "won".  One South Korean won is 0.00086 US Dollar. That means that one US Dollar is 1165.95 won. It might seem that Koreans have alot of money but that's not always the case. A bibimbap (Korean dish) costs 5-6000 won, which is about 4-5 dollars.

  1. Korean fast food restaurants will deliver food straight to your house, including McDonalds and other restaurants like that.

  2. In South Korea, they have a festival called "The Boryeong Mud Festival" and yes, it is exactly what it sounds like, playing with MUD.

3. The average South Korean works 55 hours a week, or 2,316 hours a year, compared to the 40-hour week of the average factory worker in the United States.

4. Valentine's Day in South Korea is all about men, instead of women.

5. Koreans believe your blood type defines your personality.

Climate

Korea has 2 climate types, humid continental and humid subtropical. Just about a teeny tiny bit of northern South Korea have a climate of humid subtropical. If you are going there in fall, summer, and spring then pack some shorts because weather will usually stay about in the 70s or higher. If you are going in Winter don't pack shorts but also don't pack a gigantic coat. Weather in Winter usually average about 45-50 degrees. The rest of South Korea is humid continental. Depends on what season you're going, pack for it. It seems pretty self explanatory because no one would pack shorts in winter especially in a humid continental climate. Because of the humidity, summer will be very hot while winter will be very cold.
